Certified Specification Practitioner (CSP) is the designation for individuals in a career having the ability to practice specification writing and who have completed and attain CSP designation status through the CSC CSP Program.
A CSP has experience, knowledge, and ability to communicate and write technical specification documents for the design and construction community.
• A CSP is qualified to create and edit guide specification sections, outline
specifications, project specification sections and master specification sections.
• A CSP is qualified to create and or work with specification documentation for various industries, like material manufacturers, master specification industry (public and private) and various consultants.
• A CSP is qualified to be a subject matter expert.
• A CSP is qualified to interpret technical specification sections.
CSP expectations for Specification preparation to include the following:
• Experience writing technical specification sections.
• Experience researching supporting documents for specification creation.
• Experience reviewing materials for substitution.
• Experience with codes and standards research.
